Antwerp 1923 (3 June - 15 July) National Interclub championship

Perlmutter (Maccabi Antwerp) scored +0-0=1 on 2nd board against Edouard Verschueren (Gentse SK)

Maccabi Antwerp won the tournament.

Crosstable http://www.belgianchesshistory.be/t...

This first edition of the interclub championship organised by the FBÉ saw the participation of four teams from Brussels (Le Cygne, Philidor, CÉ Brussels, and Les Augustins), two from Antwerp (Maccabi and Antwerpse K), and two from Ghent (Gentse SK and Mat of Pat). The Antwerp teams proved to be clearly superior. Maccabi — with a.o. Koltanowski, Perlmutter, and Dunkelblum — was particularly strong. 1 gives the round-by-round results and a couple of games. In the match CÉ Brussels vs. Philidor, there was one adjourned game. The result of this game was determined by the final board game scores given in 1. Les Augustins forfeited after three rounds.

Antwerp 1924 (3 June - 15 July) Maccabi Club quadrangular

Perlmutter shared 2nd with either Arthur Dunkelblum or Joseph Dunkelblum, behind Emanuel Sapira and ahead of Salo Landau.

According to <Di Felice> the 2nd place finisher was Joseph Dunkelblum

Is it Arthur or Josef Dunkelblum? Unfortunately, and perhaps surprisingly, Koltanowski doesn't mention this tournament anywhere in his column in De Schelde. It probably got lost between the Olympic tournament and the Westende tournament.

I suspect the Wood in the reserves section is Baruch Harold, but it could also be Gabriel. Note that both Dyner and Dunkelblum (and perhaps Perlmutter, too?) were born in Poland. Dunkelblum had obtained the Belgian nationality at this point. The games for the masters' section are widely available. Two games from the reserves section and both crosstables come from 2.

The Latvian team, on its way to the olimpiad in Buenos Aires, took the boat for America in Antwerp. The local team, one of the strongest in Belgium, took the occasion to organise a small match against the very strong Latvians and led a resounding defeat.

Alongside the olimpiad, there was also the women's world championship. The Belgian and Latvian representatives, Stoffels and Lauberte, also took the boat in Antwerp. But only after they had played a two-game match, which Lauberte won with 1½-½.

All my information comes from two contemporary newspaper articles: 1 & 2.
