    <under construction>

    Held at Aruba.

    8 games, 1991

  5. 1991 Sosonko - (Sofia) Polgar match
    <under construction>

    Held at Aruba. Sosonko (perhaps) won by a score of 4-2 (or were there more games that got mixed up into another pid file?!). Did he also play her sister Susan in some sort of match conditions (like [bad chessgames.com link] might suggest, but only one game exists in this database as of 26 July 2015).

    6 games, 1991

  6. 1991 Subotica (women's) interzonal
    Held at Subotica in November.
    29 games, 1991

  7. 1991 Wijk Aan Zee (B group)
    <under construction>

    Held at Wijk Aan Zee in January.

    Game Collection: Wijk aan Zee Hoogovens 1991 was the main group.

    27 games, 1991

  8. 1991 World Junior chess championship
    <under construction>

    Held at Mamaia, Romania (but also see note *** (below) regarding starred games). Vladimir Akopian , Mikhail Ulybin and Sergei Tiviakov each finished with 10.5 points after 13 rounds. A tiebreak was needed for the former 2, since the latter player finished in 3rd, the odds predicting a similar medal finish[(1)].

    Perhaps Kramnik vs A A Webster, 1991 and D Langier vs Kramnik, 1991 belong to Game Collection: 1991 WYCC (open) U-18

    [References: (1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_... ]

    37 games, 1991

  9. 1991 World open

    Next: Game Collection: 1992 World Seniors' championship

    [Further reading: (1) http://www.wscc2016.net/information... ]

    14 games, 1991

  11. 1991 WYCC (open) U-10
    <under construction>

    Held at Warsaw.

    See also: Game Collection: 1991 WYCC (open) U-18 (held at Guarapuava, Brazil).

    1 game, 1991

  12. 1991 WYCC (open) U-18
    <under construction>

    Along with the U-16, it was held at Guarapuava Brazil. The U-14, U-12 and U-10 categories for 1991 were played at Warsaw Poland.

    Kramnik vs A A Webster, 1991 and D Langier vs Kramnik, 1991 both say <Event "Ch World (juniors)"> <Site "Guarapuava (Brazil)">

    Vladimir Kramnik did have (a total of 9, making this tournament perhaps at least 9 rounds, if these 2 games do belong here) other games (did he play <both> of these?) at Game Collection: 1991 World Junior chess championship , but there is no mention there (yet) of a Andrew A Webster or Daniel Langier .

    See also: Game Collection: 1991 WYCC (open) U-10 (held at Warsaw, Poland).

    12 games, 1991

  14. 1992 (women's) candidates tournament
    <under construction>

    Held at Shanghai in October and November with 18 total rounds. A 9-player double-round-robin meant that there should be as many as ((2x8)x9) = 144 games total could exist for this collection.

    The top-2 winners (they were Nana Ioseliani and Susan Polgar and later played a 12-round match to a 6-6 draw which was decided by a "lottery") squared off to determine who would play Jun Xie in a match for the championship cycle.

    33 games, 1992

  15. 1992 Aruba
    <under construction>

    Held at Aruba.

    Did this have any relation to either Game Collection: 1991 Polugaevsky - (Judith) Polgar match or Game Collection: 1991 Sosonko - (Sofia) Polgar match of the previous year (perhaps the family was at the beach over the Christmas holiday break, or was this a split or more complex series of tournament(s) / matches- some other game headers in this time period suggested there might have been a blitz/rapid event as well...)

    43 games, 1992

  16. 1992 Canadian championship
    <under construction>

    Held at Kingston.

    Previous: Game Collection: 1991 Canadian championship

    Previous: Game Collection: 1991 Capablanca memorial (group A)

    Next: Game Collection: 1993 Capablanca memorial (group A) (main A section).

    <under construction>
    10 games, 1992

  20. 1992 World open

    Held at Philadelphia. Igor Ivanov , Robert Gardner and Todd Southam were known players in Canadian circles whom attended the event.

    Gregory Kaidanov - http://chessevents.com/worldopen/wo...
