Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-27-09  YoungEd: If Alekhine's note to White's 11th is correct (and I have no reason to think otherwise), White essentially had (but blew) a won game at that point. That actually shows the power of Bird's Opening! Black plays natural enough moves, but there must be a mistake or two in there. I suspect with Alekhine that 6. ...♕e7 is not best, and I wonder if Black would have done better on move 10 to develop a piece (say, ♘f6) instead of pushing the f-pawn.
Mar-11-09  AugustAle: < YoungEd: White essentially had (but blew) a won game at that point > White had the game and stumbled, but Winter blew it. Love the picture @ : William Winter ...(is blew a word?)
Mar-11-09  WhiteRook48: it is Winter
Feb-21-11  Knightrider655321: thats Mr. Winter to you son
Apr-22-21  Caissanist: White to move, after black's 28th, would be a nice Monday or Tuesday puzzle.
