After 33...d5 (an 'only move') White had several ways to draw, the most obvious being 34.Rxb3 Rxe4 35.fxe4 Qd1+, etc. One way to try to keep the game alive is <Sneaky>'s 34.Qxe8+ Qxe8 35.Rxb3 but after 35...Qg6+ 36.Kf1 Qd3+ 37.Ke1 h5 White's paralysed K means he'll have to bail out with a draw sooner or later.

Bxc4, but it looked rather even - something like the Brenin continuation with 33 (or 34) Qxe8+. I thought there should be something better, and perhaps B did too. 30 ... exf6 perhaps, but that loses to 31 Bxe6. Since it Saturday, I'll count this as a find since B only won because W blundered. |
