WATSON DRAWS WITH YATES.>

LONDON, Wed.->

The Watson-Yates game of chess, which Capablanca described as somewhat like a dog fight, ended in a draw at the eighty-third move.

It had already lasted six hours, when it was resumed.

The "Daily Mail" says that the match provided thrills.

It looked as if Yates was to win. He was a pawn ahead in a rook pawn ending. No one could think that Watson, with Australian experience only, could hold out against so strong an opponent. The Australian, however, made a wonderful fight, and actually threatened to snatch a win as a result of his opponent's slip. Only Yates' well-known skill at the end of games enabled him to secure a draw by a perpetual check.> -(United Service).>
