tamar: Fantastic combination with 38 Be6, more so because it looks like a wasted move after 38...Rh8+ 39 Bh3 Nxg6 but that just disguises the queen sacrifice that is coming.
Feb-09-12  rannewman: black is not consistent with his strategy, which leads to his defeat. he trades the black squeres bishops in order to keep white with a bad white squeres bishop, but then insted of trying to keep the postion blocked he goes and open the centere making the bishop a monster..
Dec-21-12  agb2002: Nice Wednesday-Thursday level puzzle after Black's 40th move.
Nov-01-20  Helios727: The game used for Harmon v. Beltik in the Queen's Gambit Netflix series. The series has Beltik resign after 41. Qxg6+.

keypusher: This game helps me understand why Fischer thought this variation was a good idea.

Jonathan Sarfati: Agdamator goes through this game on this channel and points out the superior 30.c4, which was pointed out to the heroine Elizabeth Harmon in the Queen's Gambit series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaM...

Yes. After Harmon tells him, "Don't you see it? You are lost." Or something similar.

Nov-10-20  estrick: Kasparov had fun selecting the games used in The Queen's Gambit, and adding fantasy variations

OBIT: Something is funny, though. When Beth meets Benny for the second time (in episode 3), Benny mentions he saw this game in Life magazine and says she lost her advantage by castling. That comment hardly makes sense, as White's castling move occurs early in the game, before much is going on. With a smirk, Benny says, "Set it up", and Beth indignantly says, "I don't want to set it up!"

Benny then leaves, and Beth goes to a board and sets up the position after 29...b6 - 21 moves after castling. After a moment of thought, she plays 30. c4 (is this move really a huge improvement?) and looks disgusted with herself. Shortly after that, she tells her mother that Beltik could have beaten her, but I can't imagine White was ever losing this game. Now, I realize finding a game that perfecty matches the dialogue might be difficult, but this one doesn't fit.

Dec-10-20  Helios727: Stockfish gives 30.c4 as best, but it also gives 30.h5 (the move played) as still holding a slight edge for White.
