Oct-27-05  fred lennox: If pressed i think Tartakower could of included 10 games against speilmann in the first 100 games of My Best Games. As it is, he included 7 of which this is the first. 15.Nxd4 is surprising in a positioin where tempting moves do exist. It protects the important white sq. bishop and Tartakower knows he will soon control the e file.

  tamar: A rich tactical duel.

Tartakower's notes point out little touches that limit Black's defences.

<Not 10...f6 on account of 11 g7.>

Rxg7 and Rg8 are unstoppable threats.

  Penguincw: Hmm. Seven white pawns to four black pawns. A big difference.

  plang: 7..Nf5 is rarely played (7..f5 is the wild main line) and has not scored well. 8..a6?! was new and has not been repeated.
