Sep-28-06  ghaiethe: Wow!! I think that Tal is the best

In this database I cant find the game

Tal vs Kasparov 1-0 !!! 1992 ridiculuous King

Nov-18-06  thegoodanarchist: From WINNING CHESS TACTICS by Yasser Seirawan with Jeremy Silman:

<(After 20...Qe5!)... the spectators thought Black would win. White's Queen, Rook, and Bishop all hang... How can White survive? 21.h4!!
Simply superb... "So we were wrong," cried the audience, "Tal was winning all along.">

Nov-18-06  Petrocephalon: I'd like to think Tal bought Miller a beer after this game.
Jan-18-07  notyetagm: This gets my vote for the greatest combination ever played, a whole series of !!-moves by Tal. And it's from a simul! Truly unbelievable.
Jan-18-07  mrbiggs: Thanks for commenting on this, notyetagm, so I could see this amazing game.

Incredible from start to finish.

You're welcome.

Apr-21-07  gambitfan: I scored 34 points at Guess The Move
Apr-21-07  amuralid: Holy cow!!! What a game! 22. Rd1 is a 'quiet' move but extremely deep.

<gambitfan> what is 'Guess the Move'?

FSR: I played (and lost to) Tal in a simul in Chicago, too. I wonder if it was the same one?

FSR: This game must have been a real emotional roller coaster for Black. First he botches the opening and ends up a pawn down with his king exposed, and he probably figures that Tal's going to make short work of him. Then the game gets really tactical and he thinks he has a chance. When he played 20...Qe5 he must have been thinking, "ohmigod, I just sacked my queen to win brilliantly against Tal!!" Then after 21.h4!! the poor guy goes into shock.
May-14-07  Archives: <h4!! ... Tal's heart pumps ice not blood..My God>

Haha, nice way of putting it! =)

Aug-12-07  Morphyisgod: Tactical games like these are why i love chess
Dec-20-07  JG27Pyth: Everyone is going bonkers over h4, and rightly so... but after 22...Rf2 white still looks in trouble...somehow Tal finds 23.Qxf2! ... This game is miraculous and Tal had to have shaken Miller's hand long and hard when this one was over. They made an attacking masterpiece together.
Feb-27-08  Alex Patkowski: Great game!
Oct-24-08  mjmorri: The star move is not 21.h4, but 20.Nb5 which restricts the Black Queen to the b8-h2 diagonal.

21.h4 works only because 21...Qxe2 is met with 22.Nxc7 mate.

sleepyirv: I wonder how long Tal stood there before moving h4. Miller was given a great story though.
Nov-25-08  ChessYouGood: A brilliant game by the best ever.
Nov-25-08  AnalyzeThis: < I wonder how long Tal stood there before moving h4. Miller was given a great story though. >

I bet it wasn't long. When I played him in a simul, that's what I noticed - he moved very, very quickly from board to board.

Dec-31-08  Crocomule: Another Tal signature: the bishop locking in the queen(Nikitin '59, etc.)
Feb-25-09  WhiteRook48: silly ID
Mar-22-09  Jim Bartle: Saw this in a magazine, really pleased to see it's here. I think Miller deserves credit for making it interesting and not collapsing when presented with the first or second trap.
May-02-09  remolino: My favorite game of all time. White comes out of the opening in an inferior position and the tactical resourcefulness to tilt the game in its favor is incredible. 13. Ng5 is wonderful as well. Then Tal most have seen the whole thing when he played 19. e6, because otherwise there was the simple 19. Rxe1.

The queens in front of each other. Ahh!

Feb-10-10  Kazzak: 19... Qc6 is worth pursuing.

33. Ne8 h5
34. Nf6+ Kh8
35. Rh8#

would have been a nice conclusion here.

Feb-10-10  DarthStapler: You mean Rh7#
