After 17.Bb2 Qd5 black should win with best play and after 17.Be3 Qd5 the locked in rook cannot be collected (but 18.Rab1 .. may give counterchances). I can imagine the whites were disgusted enough at this point to resign, or maybe the game is incomplete. |

Qxc3 Qxd4 16. Qxd4 Nxd4 17. gxf3 Nxf3+. Black has a ♘ and three ♙s for two ♗s. I like his chances, but that's hardly a winning advantage. Maybe we should ask CG why they gave us this dud in the first place? |

The "G" in Gouda is pronounced similar to the hebrew letter "chet" (a "throat clearing sound"). the "ou" vowels in Gouda are pronounced kind of like a-oo, very hard to explain. :) The "a" in "a-oo" is like the way the British pronounce the "a" in "bath". The "oo" as in "spoon". Combine the two sounds, "a" and "oo" and you get how the Dutch pronounce "ou"! Does that make any sense? :)
Then, the "d" in Gouda is normal, and the "a" in Gouda is similar to the way "a" is pronounced in words like "battle", but not completely like it. Combine all those weird sounds and you get ch--a-oo--da! Gouda! :) |
