fredthebear: This game was equal until the material was reduced and the focus shifted to the capture of the e- and f-pawns. Black's backward e6-pawn was more secure that it initially appeared. White gives up his bishop essentially for three pawns but lost two pawns in the meantime. This leaves White with a lost ending as Black has the extra piece and has White's king cut-off.
