Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-16-07  beginner64: 17 Bxg7 is better for white.
Mar-30-10  Kinghunt: <beginner64> Actually, the position is far more complex than that. After 17. Bxg7, black simply plays 17...Qf4+ and mates. Instead, white should have played 17. Bc3 with the idea of blocking any checks with 18. Bd2, leading instead to a roughly equal position.
Aug-12-23  Messiah: It seems the Wonderchild had difficulties. :^)

chancho: Carlsen was probably a FIDE master at this time (11 years old) and already playing a Grandmaster.

Many amateurs don't even get to sit across such a strong player, unless it's in a simul.

Let us not deter <antichrist> from his self-appointed mission to troll every Carlsen defeat.

As to the quote, my first heads-up game with a GM came nearly a year after I had already made master.
