Jan-17-07  black knight c6: Now THAT is funny!
Mar-12-07  Whitehat1963: Hilarious!
Mar-12-07  jdoliner: Does the phone going off just result in an instant loss, or did he break the rules by answering it.
Mar-12-07  TrueFiendish: The thing ringing is enough. If you can't remember to turn it off or at least put it on silent, you need to be taught a lesson.
Mar-20-07  RonB52734: Maybe it was Jain calling. I'm going to start collecting my opponents' cell phone numbers :)
Mar-20-07  dbquintillion: It was Danailov calling to say "g6?! What are you doing! I signalled e5! Scratching my chin twice means e5, not g6!"
Jul-08-07  openingspecialist: hahahahahaha
Jul-08-07  Zzyw: I love this game as much as I hate mobile phones:)
Sep-22-07  King mega: HAHAAHAHAA!!!! I love that!!! mobile phone!
Sep-23-07  shr0pshire: newbs. When will they learn the modern defense is weak!?! lol. :)
Oct-13-07  Koni: Why didn't Rasa's phone go off when I played her at Hastings? :(
Oct-30-07  Udit Narayan: LOLOLOL !!!!!
Oct-30-07  outsider: her surname contains the root "noreti" which is "to want/wish" in Lithuanian (her native language). she could wish to get something more from this game. madly impressive. and just.
Oct-30-07  chessamateur: Take your best shot people. I'll start easy.

<Ring>

Akash: You lose via disqualification<!! = Winning move>

Rasa: <to caller> What, you fool, Not my Number!!

Caller: Oh no! I called yours<?? = (Losing Blunder)>

Rasa: Yes! You were supposed to call my opponent's, I mean ... errr ummm... After the game to congratulate him on a hard fought game. Yeah that's it.

Akash: Right.

Oct-30-07  ounos: Obviously Rasa was not prepared for the quite extraordinary refutation of 1. ... g6?? by the excellent 2. d4!!! and stunned, resigned instantly.
Nov-15-07  whiteshark: Things have come to a pretty pass!
May-02-08  deadlysin: and yet,
the game of the century has been disturbed again
May-02-08  DarthStapler: This should be GOTD next April Fools

I am extremely sorry, but I for some reason get very emotionally distressed by comments like those.

One time I was in school and a friend of mine wrote a chess newspaper article that said in one game the two players were down to their kings, one guy made a wrong move and lost, and the other guy took first place in the tournament. I could scarcely stop weeping all day.

I am not joking.

Aug-10-09  Dredge Rivers: It wasn't that his cellphone went off, it was that his ringtone was SO ANNOYING! :)
Apr-11-11  Tigranny: Wow! Never seen a game forfeited because of a ringing cell phone!
Jan-17-12  YoungEd: Nice annotations! They explain everything to the reader!!!
