Mateo: It should be noticed that after 24...Kd8 25.Bxa6 would no longer win a pawn.
Jan-12-08  brankat: Perhaps 25...b5 26.a4 Bd7 27. g5.. or.. <27. Nd4> first. May actually be dangerous.
Jan-12-08  Eyal: <What about 24.g5>

Seems clearly in Black's favor after 24...hxg5 25.Rxh8+ Bxh8 26.fxg5 e5.

Jan-12-08  MorganV2851: adams-gelfand, petroff draw.

  ketchuplover: oops I meant 24...a5
Jan-12-08  acirce: To answer my own question, yeah, I think so.
Jan-12-08  MorganV2851: little 13 year old girl hou yifan is looking like she will draw with bacrot in the class B tournament... WOW.
Jan-12-08  tldr3: draw

Jan-12-08  Hesam7: <acirce: To answer my own question, yeah, I think so.>

Wrong answer.

Jan-12-08  acirce: No, he was just checking if Van Wely would find ..b5!! equalizing.
Jan-12-08  dabearsrock1010: ok no way kramnik was trying hard to beat his second for the world championship on the first day of the tournament and I don't blame him
Jan-12-08  acirce: So anyway, if there was a refutation of Van Wely's opening play this was not it.
Jan-12-08  MindCtrol9: They did not want to fight.
Jan-12-08  whiteshark: bye bye chess bucks :(

Jan-12-08  brankat: Patience :-)
Jan-12-08  whiteshark: <brankat> Didn't you forecast today that Kramnik will begin like a lamb? Well predicted! :D
Jan-12-08  brankat: <whiteshark> Actually it was <Sneaky>'s prediction, I just agreed with it :-) Yet, he still managed to clean up in the ChessBookie game! Real sneaky ;-)

HeMateMe: The slav looks various drawish, because of the pawn set up. If you're playing a stronger player, and you have to draw, is the Slav a good bet?
Oct-23-08  Cactus: With drawing, it doesn't get much better than the Slav.
Dec-06-22  Messiah: Terribly dull game, very bad.
