Jul-30-12  Marmot PFL: Black is using his time now which is good. The closer to a win the more sure you need to be.
Jul-30-12  Kinghunt: Sorry, typo. Kd8 wins by force, kd6 is refuted by b6.
Jul-30-12  Pedro Fernandez: < SCUBA diver: If Black exchanges the Knights, the game is over with a win for Black. > Obvious, but that will not happen. I think b-pawn will save to Hao for a defeat.
Jul-30-12  Eyal: Yeah, 55...Kd8! bringing the king over to attack White's b-pawn.
Jul-30-12  Ulhumbrus: 55...Nd6 attacks the b5 pawn and keeps White's King back. On 55..Nd6 56 c6 Kd8 57 Nc4 Nxc4 58 Kxc5 Kc8 White's King can do nothing and Black's King heads for the b6 pawn

Gypsy: <Kinghunt: Sorry, typo. Kd8 wins by force, kd6 is refuted by b6.>

Carlsen should see the difference.

Jul-30-12  Kinghunt: Carlsen is not one to make serious endgame mistakes. If the positio is technically won, which it is, he will win it. Hao will make 10 more moves then resign.

Yes, but instead of 57.Nc4? White can counter-attack Black's a-pawn with his king: 57.Kc3 Kc8 58.Kb2 Kb7 59.Ka3.

chancho: Only 21, and with a rating of 2835.

This kid can still improve his game.

Jul-30-12  Eyal: With a win in this game he should be crossing 2840 in the live rating.
Jul-30-12  SCUBA diver: This game should be titled: "How to lose a winning game"
Jul-30-12  talisman: MC wins more of these than anybody...thank you chessgames

chancho: Carlsen will become World champ.

It's just a question of when.

Bishoprick: Anyone know Wang Hao's age? We are told where he was born, but not when in CG biographical info.
Jul-30-12  hierophante: What an instructive ending! And also one that will no doubt make it into "Best of" collections. It's great to be able to watch it live. Thank you <Chessgames.com>
Jul-30-12  BadKnight: Well, I believe right now Carlsen is the best player in the world. But becoming the world champion is more than just being the best player. Everything has to fall right in place.
Jul-30-12  Marmot PFL: <Bishoprick: Anyone know Wang Hao's age? We are told where he was born, but not when in CG biographical info.>

He turns 23 in about a week
