keypusher: Mr. Lee overlooked 39....Nxf7, which seems promising. Must be an error in the game score.
Jun-14-13  TheFocus: <keypusher> The score is correct as compared to Whyld's book. Why not 39. Rxe5.

I think a move is missing. I will check <BCM>.

Jun-14-13  TheFocus: <BCM> was no help.
Nov-02-17  reti: Ken Whyld wrote that the score for this game had not been found.

MissScarlett: When did he write that?
Nov-02-17  Magpye: <reti> Whyld credits the source in <The Collected Games of Emanuel Lasker> to "Glasgow Weekly Herald," July 16, 1892.

However, the two match games between Lasker and Lee in 1891 have not been found.

  MissScarlett: The <Glasgow Weekly Herald, July 16, 1892, p.7> reveals that <38...Nd7 39. Qxf7 Nd6 40. Qf3>, not <38...Kd8 39.Qxf7 Nd6 40.Qf6+>, was the finish, and that <Black resigned in a few moves.> It credits the game and notes to the <Hereford Times>, which isn't online for 1892.
