sbevan: Well, it's not every day you see the world #3 (Feb 2015 rankings) take such a shellacking.

What a superb game by White.

Feb-17-15  Strelets: You have to admire White's creativity and boldness. Could Black have defended better? Yes, absolutely, had he been able to find the moves. Tomashevsky is off to a strong start and I'm very interested to see how he does in subsequent rounds.

chancho: I've been impressed by Tomashevsky since I saw him take down So, Morozevich, and Aronian in the World Cup.

He's good.

tamar: Grischuk had one unlikely chance to cap White's oil well blowout of a position with 28...Rd4

For an exchange he gets the c5 pawn and probably the c6 pawn as well.

if 29 Bxd4 exd4 30 Nd5 Qxc5 31 Nf4 Nc7 when Black might even be better

(Komodo 5 gives -.60/26)

Instead 28...Nc7 29 Nb6 takes away the Queen's threat to c5, so the option to play ...Rd4 is gone, and the lead gusher reaches c8!

Feb-17-15  Gilmoy: <23.c5!> looks flimsy:

but <32.Ncd5> is what White saw:

Those doubled c-pawns look like shotgun shells in somebody's skeet gun. We could call it <Tomashevsky's Little Gun> :)

Feb-17-15  Garech: What a game from Tomashevsky! It's got Petrosian written all over it.

Feb-17-15  Severin: <Tomashevsky's Little Gun>

A...........Tommy Gun?

keypusher: I really love this game! 23.c5 is a surprising followup to the exchange sacrifice but you can feel White getting a grip on the position.
Feb-19-15  bennyvsfischer: almost 100 points less....congrats tomas!!!
Feb-19-15  beenthere240: 20. Rxa6! nice sac.
Feb-23-15  anandrulez: An original game from Tomahvesky.

12. Nd2 Ndc5 13. Rb1 Nd7 14. Qf3 Ndc5 15. Qd1 Ra8 16. Rg3. Seems like Sasha wanted a draw with these Knight maneuvers and he got punished for that.

Rg3 was a bold attempt from White stating his intentions. Any one who wins a creative game ought to be be happy with their skills!

HeMateMe: Nice, very creative. Reminds one that indeed, chess is not "played out." Put those FischerRandomRules away.
Feb-27-15  Andrijadj: Gris-Gris gumbo ya-ya :)
May-12-17  Saniyat24: uff! what a game, anybody will be proud of that...The KID gives some picturesque games...
