  offramp: Good old Boden.

He was such a crazy crazy guy.

He invented Boden's mate.

His idea was to invent a Boden's Opening and a Boden's middle game as well, and then use all three in one game.

But it was not to be.

Jul-13-18  Count Wedgemore: <offramp: He invented Boden's mate.>

Boden's imaginary friend.

Jul-13-18  ChessHigherCat: < Count Wedgemore: <offramp: He invented Boden's mate.>

<Boden's imaginary friend.>

LOL

Fantastic game but you have to wonder how much he had planned out and how much he improvised brilliant responses as the game progressed.

Jul-13-18  morfishine: I don't Belaiev this guy knows how to play chess

Steinitz vs Belaiev, 1873

*****

Jul-13-18  Ratt Boy: Outside of the Queen, Black has no pieces developed in the final position. I wonder if perhaps that contributed to his quick demise?!
Jul-13-18  jith1207: He knows how to play Chess obviously, but he doesn't Belaiev in development of pieces. And, he trusts Boden's mate, no one should Belaiev that imaginary guy.
Jul-13-18  TheTamale: Belaiev apparently had no forbodening that 13) Rbc1 threatened a discovered attack on his queen.

  offramp: I like Samuel Standidge Boden ‘s middle name.

It sounds like a cheap fare on the Titanic as long as you did not sit or lie down.
