Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-28-04  Calculoso: Why in the world did white play 14. Nd1? It removes the a-rook from defense of the back rank and eliminates the possibility of maintaining a rook on the e-file. Also, I don't see the bishop check at h2 too menacing.
Aug-28-04  Hanzo Steel: I don't think it's arrogant to say that this isn't a very impressive game. Seems pretty even until 14. Nd1??.
Aug-28-04  notsodeepthought: Sure it's a terrible game - but at least the pun is not too bad...

mahmoudkubba: It seems <this boy Noa> just wants to reach the 8th row and when thats possible he leaves the game saying to his opponent yaah you just won while he really did what he wanted to do, otherwise what does for Gods sake the word <Noa Way out> means??

lostemperor: <mahmoudkubba> LOL. I'm glad your English improve rapidly. It is a pun you no. Playing with words. It means: No way out. Chessgames can also make a pun for this game like: Noah drowned. See what I mean hehe? Noa?!
Aug-28-04  KampongBoy: Silly little blunder, probably made in haste...maybe it was raining and Noa had to catch a boat?!
Aug-28-04  sandyobrien: Hahaha, an absolute blunder of a game!!! (14. Nd1)

kevin86: Through thirteen moves, the outlook is unclear---after white's fourteenth,it is no longer in doubt. If this game is any indication of his play,Noa should have gone into shipbuilding instead of chess.
Aug-28-04  Andrew Chapman: How would the game end after 16.gxBf3? Maybe ..Re1+ 17.Kg2 Nh5 threatening Nf4+ winning the queen. Then eg 18.Qd2 Nf4+ 19.Kh2 Ne2+ 20.Kg2 Rg1#
Aug-28-04  Calculon: Instead of ♘h5, how about ♗h2 and White must now lose his ♕ in exchange for Black's ♖ to avoid mate on g1.

  tpstar: 16. gxf3 Bh2+ 17. Kg2 (17. Kh1? Re1+ 18. Qf1 Rxf1+ 19. Kg2 Rg1#) Re1 and the only defense to 18 ... Rg1# is 18. Qf1 Rxf1 19. Kxf1 Qf4 winning quickly (20. Bg4 h5). Note 18. f4 Qxf4 doesn't help matters (19. f3 Qg3#). Looks like White opened the game with noa problem, but during the middlegame he didn't noa what he was doing.
Aug-28-04  Calculoso: <Calculon> Where did you happen to get your name?
Aug-28-04  Calculon: I am the robot star from Futurama; I also like to play chess in my spare time.

offramp: Here is an oddity. I could tell that today's pun was pretty awful, but how bad was it?

I entered it on Huskisson's Internet Sliding Pun Index and it recorded a shocking 2.1! Sauve qui peut!

The strange thing is that when I checked this pun on its last outing in August 2004 it registered 17.6!

I think it shows how the world has changed.

Jul-10-18  The Kings Domain: Bad blunder.
Jul-10-18  Ratt Boy: <tpstar: 16. gxf3 ♗h2+ 17. ♔g2 (17. ♔h1? ♖e1+ 18. ♕f1 ♖xf1+ 19. ♔g2 ♖g1#) ♖e1 and the only defense to 18 ... ♖g1# is 18. ♕f1 ♖xf1 19. ♔xf1 ♕f4 winning quickly (20. ♗g4 h5).>

He also has 18.h4, but that doesn't help much: 18...♘h5, and White's going to lose the house.

Jul-10-18  saturn2: 14..BxN destroys the guard of the square e1
Jul-10-18  morfishine: Noa forgot to count the pieces, thank god he didn't forget to count the animals
Jul-10-18  siggemannen: <morfishine: Noa forgot to count the pieces, thank god he didn't forget to count the animals> Actually he totally forgot about the dinosaurs.
