Apr-29-06  vesivialvy93: I don't know if i am right but the fact Tal needed an extra move to get the f6 pawn cause his lost 24...Qc5 and 25....Qg5 Fischer know that Tal lost 1 move to reach the f6 pawn 24...Qe5??? lost immediately ! it's crazy to watch how Fischer can use little details and every square on the board....maybe i am wrong ? but it is fun to watch !
Jul-24-06  NOKRO: <who: <Richard Taylor> in Tal's autobiography he writes "I then went down without a fight against Fiscer. About once a year I used to write down one move, and then make a different one, and on this occasion, as a result of such a transposition, I had a difficult position as early as the 6th(!!) move, and by the 10th or 12th a lost one.>

So, this one of tal's off days.

Oct-12-06  EnriqueGomezGomez: Asombrosa partida. Excelente corroboración ajedrecistica de la ecuación de Einstein.
Feb-21-07  cizio2: Ok, a nice play by Fischer.
Anyway, this is only the famous "oh my god i didn't play a6!" game.
Feb-21-07  ughaibu: Cizio2: Your post is excessive, see earlier posts.
Mar-16-07  cizio2: ughaibu: what do you mean with "excessive"?
thanks
Mar-16-07  themanfrommanila: Was this Fischer's first win against the Magician from Riga?
Mar-16-07  shalgo: <first and last>

Not last. Fischer won a game against the ill Tal in Curacao.

Fischer vs Tal, 1962

He also won a couple of blitz games at the Herceg Novi "unofficial blitz world championship."

Mar-16-07  euripides: <shalgo> you are quite right I had forgotten about Curacao (perhaps Bobby upset Misha by jumping up and down on his hospital bed when visting him). I had deleted my post but you got there first.
Mar-17-07  themanfrommanila: Not exactly a queen sacrifice as Fischer got two rooks in the exchange but no doubt a very brilliant play against one of the world's best players.
Mar-17-07  setebos: Fischer keeps faithful to the cadence of his own drummer. The rest is history.
May-12-07  LawrenceT: Queen sac--WOW!! I wonder if Tal thought he was playing against himself?
May-12-07  utssb: Fischer's first win against Tal.
May-12-07  chessloser68: why not on 20, instead of 20...Ra6, 20...Qa5?
Oct-10-07  cn1ght: First thing that came to mind during this game, about move 20 which I also thought about, is 21 b3 and black's rook and queen cannot do anything, black has left the center under white's control, and it just looks bleak for black positionally speaking... Also, we would not have had that awesome queen sac!
Dec-25-07  hedgeh0g: I hope the white king is a polygamist, because he's about to get a couple more wives!
Dec-26-07  Chesstalesfan: Enrique, como fue corroborada la ecuacion de Einstein? Perdir la masa y ganar en Energia? No entiendo
Mar-09-08  positionalgenius: Really nice game...
Mar-09-08  D.Observer: What theory did Tal oppose in this game?
Mar-09-08  D.Observer: Ah, I know, <Saemi> said, <I think I can clear up <this mystery>. It seems to me that <Tal was referring to mass-energy equivalence>, as expressed in the equation <E = mc²>. By <sacrificing some mass, i.e. <his queen>, Fischer <gains a huge amount of energy>, just as in an atomic reaction, energy is released when matter is destroyed>.>
Mar-09-08  mindkontrolle: awesome, decisive!!!!!!!

Mar-09-08  mindkontrolle: <hedgeh0g> hahaahahaahha, he better be a pimp!!!!!!!
Mar-09-08  RandomVisitor: Tal could have played <8...e5> 9.Bg5 a6 10.Bxf6 gxf6 11.Na3 Bxa3 12.bxa3 Ne7 with a playable game.
Mar-09-08  jovack: Is it just me, or was this game already "game of the day"... with the exact same title.
Mar-09-08  Sularus: <jovack>

I think so too.
