Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-15-04  Egghead: 39. ... Kh6 40.g5+ Kh5 41.Qxf7+ Kh4 42.Qxh7#
Mar-05-06  patzer2: Chigorin's 32. Bxg7+! is the solution to number 1165 in Informant's 1980 "Encyclopedia of Chess Middlegames," and is classified as a decoy (spelled "dicoying" in this multi-language reference book).

This sham sacrifice demolishes the last of the Black King's pawn protection and exposes him and his defending pieces to a decisive attack.

Feb-28-08  Knight13: The sniper on a1 evidently pierced the Black king's heart.
Oct-25-16  rainingpieces: Is the game-score correct? I find the same game in 365chess database and it gives 14...Nb5, though the later position after 16...Nc2 is the same.
Oct-25-16  Paarhufer: 14.. Kt-Q5 (Nd4) according to Steinitz in the NY Sun, 18 February 1892.
May-11-20  Finnegan63: I know it was a long time ago, but the two moves 15...Qf6 16 Qa3, which in the first case lose or the second fail to gain substantial material, sadly seem very poor quality for a World Championship match.

Can you post your suggested improvement on White's 16th? Black has a lot of threats so it's not obvious to me, at least.

I think 16.Qa3 is good, I cannot find any kind of <obvious> improvement, and why to improve anything that is already OK? - it would be like I should have 'improved' somehow my correct prediction that Gukesh wins the Candidates 2024: would have been a nonsense to do that.
