Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-03-10  mobiegobie: Wow! I did not realize how bad the score is for white after 4.Bg5 24%!! Blacks dark square strategy, closed(restrictive for white)center and knights against(bad)bishops! Nice game.
Jun-29-12  MTuraga: A classic illustration of a knight vs bad bishop end game.
Mar-28-18  dokmo: After Roman Dzindzichashvili played his invention 9...Bf5 the Leningrad variation was refuted and it started to disappear from top level chess.
Aug-03-23  Saniyat24: march of the black King...!
Aug-03-23  Granny O Doul: Of course, the pawn structure is very similar to that arising from the DID (1. d4 g6 2. c4 Bg7 3. Nc3 c5 4. d5 Bxc3+).

Oddly, "Dzindzi-Indian Defense" originally referred to something completely different; 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 a6.

Sep-05-23  Granny O Doul: Regarding White's poor score in this line, I noticed a bit of irony in flipping through "Timman's Triumphs" at the book store yesterday: Timman, introducing a game he won from Dzindzi (not in this database but played about 1976 or 8) identifies as a weakness in Roman's game "lack of theoretical awareness", i.e., playing openings that are simply "not very good", in that case a Czech Benoni defense.

perfidious: Then again, there is this Czech Benoni in which White played a sideline and Dzin came to grief:

keypusher: Thanks <stonehenge> (and perfidious and Granny).

It seems unfair somehow that 4.Bg5 does so badly against the Nimzo. Black's bishop has "deserted" the kingside, so shouldn't White be able to take advantage? Well no, apparently, he can't.
