keypusher: Kasparov nurses a two-queen advantage to victory. Was this a blitz game?
Jul-17-09  BISHOP TAL: Im lookin at this game and thinkin why is torre still playin. So often GMs resign to early. Not this game, he he.

perfidious: Yes, he was removed from the Torre to the depths below, as a short stop on the way to perdition.
Oct-21-11  serenpidity.ejd: <BISHOP TAL> Torre had opted for the most number of moves until he resigned as if to say 'look, everybody in this tournament, Kas had a hard time defeating me.'( a bragging right!)hehehe:-)
Nov-25-11  serenpidity.ejd: COLLECTOR'S ITEM: <Humor on the board> or <Pissing off an opponent> Kasparov vs. Torre 3.
Nov-25-11  serenpidity.ejd: <COLLECTOR'S ITEM:> Humor on the board or Pissing off your opponent.

1) In my opinion, this game was supposed to be a draw. Torre was just moving back and forth his rook to defend his position. Until he was caught sleeeping when Kas snatched his pawn by bishop sac.

2) Torre could have resigned by move 62 but made it to move 82.

3) Even if Kas had a queen as opposed to none Torre prolonged the game.

4) And this was the worse, Kas had two queens and still Torre was playing. Humor or pissing off?

Aug-05-12  sicilianhugefun: Perhaps this guy torre is proud that his game with Kasparov lasted for more than 80 moves..
Aug-05-12  torrefan: Kasparov included this game and analyzed it extensively in one of his best games books (forgot the title).

perfidious: The game cited is blitz--not a fair basis for comparison.
Sep-13-14  Ke2: Wait why didn't he play rb1? Playing for the win???
