Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-19-02  bishop: The only move to stop mate in a few moves is 24...f5 which is clearly insufficient.

Jonathan Sarfati: What Euwe called a "magnet combination", drawing the king towards the enemy position. Would be good for GotD. E.g.:

23... ♔xg7 24. ♗xh6+! ♔xh6 25. ♖h5+ (25. ♕e3+ actually mates quicker) 25... ♔xh5 26. ♕h7+ ♔g5 27. ♕g7+ ♔f5 (27... ♔h5 28. g4+ ♔h4 29.♕h6#) 28. g4+ ♔f4 (28... ♔e6 29. ♕e5+ ♔d7 30. ♖c7+ ♔d8 31. ♕e7#) 29. ♕e5+ ♔xf3 30. ♖f1+ ♔xg4 31. ♖f4+ ♔h3 32. ♕h5#
