Aug-04-14  sneaky pete: Game 14, Amsterdam, January 14 and (after adjournment) 15.
Aug-04-14  DanielBryant: What happens after 22.gxf3? Can't White block off the path of the bishop with f4?
Aug-04-14  sneaky pete: <DanielBryant> After 22.gxf3 Qxh3 23.f4 Bxb4 and if 24.Qxb4 Qg4+ and .. Qxd1 (Euwe).
Aug-04-14  Marmot PFL: <What happens after 22.gxf3? Can't White block off the path of the bishop with f4?>

22.gf3 Qxh3 23.f4 f5 and Rf6 looks too strong.

This looks like the kind of game Fine meant when he said that Keres was too passive with white against strong opponents.

perfidious: He can, but Nemesis strikes from another quarter: 22.gxf3 Qxh3 23.f4 f5 with threats of ....Bxb4 and ....Rf6, after which Black stands better because of the lonesome enemy king. Alas, those wretched pieces on the queenside, deep in slumber!
Aug-04-14  DanielBryant: Thanks for clearing that up, all.
