GrahamClayton: After 41..♖c2 42. c7 ♗f8, Black has no way to free his position since neither the bishop or King can do anything. The rook can only move up and down the c-file, which leads to a draw.

Black could win with 40...♗b2 41. ♖d7 ♖c8 42. c7 ♗f6 43. ♔f1 ♔f8 44. ♖h7 ♗g7

There is no reason to play 41...Be5 after 40...Bxb2 41,Rd7. 41...Rc8 or 41...Bf6 are much better options.

beatgiant: It's an interesting situation. But how about 40... Bxb2 41. Re7, getting rid of the e-pawn and looking for chances in a potential "bishop and wrong rook's pawn" scenario on the kingside?

40...Bxb2 41. Re7 Rc8 42. Rxe4 Rxc6 43. Re7

I think Black should win, but I wouldn't resign yet if I had White's position in my local chess club.
