Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-11-03  drukenknight: spassky loing to korchnoi in the Russian champ. It looks like 31 Bb5 would be better with a view to coming back and hitting the a pawns or the e pawn
Sep-01-06  euripides: A game that may have given Fischer a couple of ideas.

He used Ke7 in a similar Sicilian position in:

Matulovic vs Fischer, 1968

Spassky's 7 Bd3 was to occur again in

Spassky vs Fischer, 1972

where Fischer sprang a surprise with 7...d5.

Sep-01-06  RookFile: I don't think 6. Be3 is the right move.

A lot of times, the queen's bishop is the last piece to be developed. You simply don't know early on what the best square is for this piece.

Aug-03-17  zydeco: 17.Qd4 is probably the culprit. The rook ends up in constant danger on b4.

Btw after 26.gxf4 a5 27.Rb3 Bd5 28.Rxb5 Bc4+.

33.Rg6 seems to expedite the end - the b-pawn is more important than black's g-pawn. Maybe 33.Kf2 is better.
