Peligroso Patzer: This game must have been from a simul or some similar exhibition. Although Matera was a strong player (IM), I cannot imagine him otherwise playing in the same event as Korchnoi in 1974.
Aug-14-06  erimiro1: 31.-Qc5??(?!) does it, but black's already in trouble. For example: 31.-Qe5 32. Rb7 Qf5 33. Bh3 is winning.
Aug-14-06  sneaky pete: <emiro1> Winning for whom? Suppose black plays 33... Qxh3+ 34.Kg1 Re1#.
Aug-14-06  Uri: in any case, 31.-Qe5 loses to 32.d6

perfidious: This game is from a blitz event-some of the games are published in Korchnoi's Chess Games, which included every known game played before his 1978 match with Karpov.
