Kibitzer's Corner
May-09-04  fred lennox: 23...Bc8 Nice move! To take d3 is attractive. "Do not make a good move too soon." Mason wrote in 1905. The delay can be used to create restrain as Zukertort does. After the bishop exchange on move 25, Zukertort is able to do 2 pawn moves without lost of tempo and make the white bishop useless on the long diagnol.

A dramatic finish!

May-10-04  Dillinger: I did some analysis with chessmonster because I was suspicious of this "win". I think it finds a draw if 67.Kh7. Black is forced to sack the rook to take the promoted g pawn and then can't gain tempo on his own promoted h pawn.
May-11-04  fred lennox: 67. Kh7 would make a draw. It goes to show the whole game is dramatic.
Jul-24-09  morphynoman2: This game is plenty of blunders of both sides.
Mar-26-16  zanzibar: I don't believe this game is in Schallopp's tb, or WP, but can be found here:

<L'Échiquier d'Aix v1 (1878) G-23 p96/108>

Jul-03-16  sneaky pete: Believe it or not, this is game 109 in Schallopp's tournament book.
