Oct-01-05  Calli: My mistake! This game is Arshak Petrosian in a team tournament at Rostov-on-Don.

There is a game that Tigran tried to hide but this one isn't it. I read the story and thought it was. Will try to find that story again.

My apologies. Pgn I have for this is:

Oct-01-05  ughaibu: Calli: That's definite? I should remove it from the collection?
Oct-01-05  Calli: Pretty sure this is not the one.

The event is http://www.geocities.com/al2055urs/...

Arshak played as Junior which explains the low quality. Tigran did not play. He was preparing to lose to Fischer, I believe. :-)

I would like to find the game and story again. The opponent seemed familar to me so I thought it was a Tigran's bad loss he tried to "forget". Anyone else remember it?

keypusher: <Calli> Here is a list of his losses with black under 30 moves. The loss to Liberzon looks like a promising candidate, since it was 15 moves and Petrosian was world champ at the time.

Oct-01-05  ughaibu: Thanks.
Oct-02-05  Calli: <keypusher> Thanks for that. I vaguely remember that Tigran was editor for some publication and conveniently didn't publish the game. I don't think it was the Liberzon game which is a fairly well known blunder. Seem to remember it as a kingside attack and Petro looking rather helpless.

Benzol: <Calli> I think Petrosian was the editor of "64" at one stage.

He was, but got the sack after losing his 1977 candidates match to the 'renegade' Korchnoi (+1 -2 =9).
