Jan-25-19  wordfunph: final nail 60.Qxe6! 1-0
Aug-15-24  Allderdice83: Instead of 60. Qxe6, I would have finished with 60. h8=Q. Something about having three queens to my opponent's one appeals to me. After 60 ... Qd5+, 61. Kh2 Qxe5+ 62. Qxe5 Rxe5 63. Qf6+ and White wins easily with two queens for two rooks, or 61 ... Rh6+? 62. Qxh6 Rxg8 63. Qxd5+ .
Aug-15-24  King.Arthur.Brazil: The following line seems good: 37. Rxf7+ Kxf7 38. Qh7+ (Ke6 39. Rxg6+ Kf5 40. Rxc6+ Kg4 41. Qg6#) Kf8 39. Rxg6 Qxg6 40. Qxg6 Re2 41. Bc1 Rd7 42. Bh6+ Ke7... etc.

I must confess, I too would be tempted, briefly, but Qxe6 is stronger. Then If he didn't resign, the material can be quickly forced off leaving you with a Q and 2 passers, so you could still get 3 Q's!

Aug-15-24  mel gibson: I decided on the same ply after about 20 seconds.

Troller: 37.Rxf7 Kxf7 38.Qh7+ Kf8 39.Rxg6 Qxg6 is forced and this position must be winning for White. I would probably contemplate for some time before playing it in a real game though.
Aug-15-24  TheaN: Relatively easy Thursday, after an otherwise tough week. Taking on g6 doesn't work because the queen's defending, so that leaves <37.Rxf7+!> as puzzle move and it works: <37....Kxf7 (Kg8 38.Qh7#) 38.Qh7+ Kf8 (else 39.Rxg6+/# +-) 39.Rxg6!>:

This is one of those 'silent' moves that is kind of easy to see: Black has no counterattacking options and White threatens both Qg7# and Rg8#, forcing <39....Qxg6 40.Qxg6 +->. White grabbed two pawns and the bishop can join the attack with Bc1-h6, so this is a relatively simple (albeit long) ending.

Aug-15-24  cocker: Very accurate follow-up by White.
