Jul-16-05 | | gerry10: I am new at the game and can't see why the game is always over when it looks like the loser has other moves to make. |

 | | chessgames.com: Gerry, White is down a whole rook! |
Jul-16-05 | | rexeterna: <gerry10>, Zimmermann missed 32. Qxc2+. So like <chessgames.com> said, it puts black up a major piece, a rook, and with players of this caliber, they don't make mistakes to lose those pieces (which begs the question..."why did white miss it?"). Hence, white, knowing that black is up AND in an advantageous position resigned instead of having the embarassment of getting his proverbial but kicked. |

 | | cu8sfan: <gerry10> Welcome to this great site! Have fun kibitzing here and don't be discouraged for not seeing it. We all had a time when we were <just learning the game>. I still am... |
Jul-16-05 | | Benzol: <cu8sfan> I thought White was doing OK up to move 30. <gerry10> Welcome to the site. :) |
Jul-16-05 | | rya: 15. d5 Bxb2 16. Nc4 ? |
Jul-16-05 | | davidmuc: 30.Rxc6! (followed by d5 after exchanges) leaves White with a better Position.
30...Rc7 seems to be a white mistake, because Black could have answered 31.Bc3 (Idea: Ba5) with a winning game. Only the bad White 31.Nxg6 causes the disappointing end... |
Jul-16-05 | | sfm: White should have wondered _why_ black played 30.-,♖c7. The threat 31.♘xg6 was real enough without the rook covering e7... :-) |
Jul-16-05 | | farrooj: welcome to the site <gerry> Well, obviously, the sacrifice here isn't correct... maybe Qe4 is better |
Jul-16-05 | | hintza: Welcome to the site <gerry10>! |
Jul-16-05 | | bhu1357: Hi guys! I believe this is my first kibitz posting as well. Like gerry10, I'm also new here and at the game. Nice to meet you guys. This move seems to be just a blunder by Zimmerman! |
Jul-16-05 | | farrooj: Actually, you posted one year ago...
But Welcome back! |
Jul-16-05 | | percyblakeney: <maybe Qe4 is better> 31. Qe4 looks good, and 32. Qe4 at least looks better than Nge5... |
Jul-16-05 | | mymt: Welcome <gerry10 & davidmuc> <rya> 15.d5 maybe Black might try 15. ...Ne5 eg.16.dxe6 Nxf3+ &...Qxd2 |
Jul-16-05 | | ajile: What a disappointment. This was a nice game with both players jockying for position and varying the pressure on the opponent's weak points. White had the Black C pawn and Black had White's D pawn as targets. Then White blunders BADLY with NXG6. I thought Black equalized very easily in this opening so there must be better ways for White to gain an advantage in the Alekhine's. |
Jul-16-05 | | mymt: <davidmuc> 30.Rxc6 Rxc6 31.Nxc6 Qxc6 32.d5 - Black could play 30. ...Bxe5 |
Jul-16-05 | | Colombiano: Hey gerry 10. Welcome to the site, enjoy it and you will become a worthy ten. Chess is war, but is the only one where you can have fun while fighting with teeth, nails and brains. |
Nov-24-05 | | DaVinciCodePHI1.618: 32...♘xe7?! |
Nov-25-05 | | DaVinciCodePHI1.618: Shame that rooks there. Complicates things! |
Jul-03-06 | | nummerzwei: Doesn´t white have two pawns for the piece after 32. Nxe7+ RxNe7 33.Rc1? |
Jul-03-06 | | Cyphelium: <nummerzwei> Yes, but he'll lose the queen after 33.- ♘f4+. And then 34. gxf4 ♖xe1 35. ♖xe1 ♗xc4 36. bxc4 ♕xf4 is certainly lost. |
