Jul-17-05  ReikiMaster: Very docile of Zsuzsa. White has more space. 19.f4 seems to rule out later e4.
Jul-30-05  PaulLovric: docile...........week

nasmichael: It was a move that was pro-team; that is, she held the top-board to a draw, which the team needed. While watching the games on www.martinbroadcasting.com, FM Paul Truong made mention of this point--the team needed not to have a loss on the top board.

Draw offered, and accepted. Perhaps this position could be visited again by some master players sometime.

(I think early draws should be collected, organized by some set of agreed-upon factors, and then chosen at random for a "Break The Draw" tournament, no draw offers.)

WannaBe: 22 moves then draw... I really can't complaint... Not like some other games we have here in the database... (Purge! Purge!)
Feb-03-06  Cogano: <WannaBe> I couldn't agree more. I've come across quite a few with less than 15 moves! If memory serves me right, but it's been a while, I even came across one with an incredible 5 or 6 moves!!! Ok, I understand that there can be good reasons for the draw (the team needs it, the player needs to draw to get the score they seek, but they're tired and would rather conserve their energy for the tougher upcoming games etc.) But at least finish the ope-ning, and, preferrably, enter the middlegame for a bit. Truly, some of the games I've found here are so short, I think they are an insult to chess! Anyway, enough of my griping. Take very good care and have a great day. Cheers mate!
Feb-03-06  Cogano: I think on the 10th move Ms. Polgar should've been the one to capture Black's Queen and force HIM to double his pawns, rather allow herself to suf-fer that fate. Also, 19.f4 can't have been a good move. Her intention may have been to establish a pawn chain, with h3 as the base, I'm not sure. But, developing the e-pawn surely is a better strategy? (He who controls the centre controls the game?) I'd love some feedback on this. Take very good care all and have a great day. Cheers!
