offramp: The Spanish Civil War, in which my grandfather fought, was one of the fiercest and bloodiest wars ever. Families were split, even worse than they are nowadays in Liverpool.

In order for Spain to function normally again as a single country it was necessary to have a "Pact of Forgetting" - to forget <los desastres de la guerra>.

Good pun!

Everton or Liverpool FC. I believe most Liverpudlians are Everton fans

Aug-02-20  goodevans: 25.c4 was very nice. Worth the price of admission.
Aug-02-20  Swedish Logician: <offramp>, given the etymology of "falangism", and White impressive chain of all-mighty pawns, this (good) pun could be extended into "The Phalanx in Zivile's Spanish War"

Yes, and 28.Bxd3 was good too. Black must have been in awful time trouble given her last two moves.
