Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-21-13  Cemoblanca: You Don't Mess with the Diesel. ;)

Maybe 16.Qh5! was the best to create some weaknesses in Black's camp, for example: 16...Rc8 (16...f4?? 17.Qxe5 fxe3 18.Rxe3) 17.c3 g6 and then 18.Qe2.

16...f4! and therefore 16.Qh5! was very important.

18.Qe3? Here's a tricky variation: 18.Qxe4! dxe4 19.Bxe5 Qe8 20.g3 Rf5 21.Rd5 Rd8 22.Rxd8 Bxd8 23.Bd6, etc.

19.Bxe5? (19.Qxe4! was still the best.)

Last but not least, it was a very sad defeat. Unfortunately! :(

Jan-22-13  morfishine: Diesel fueled the Master
Jan-22-13  IndigoViolet: Win Diesel.
Nov-09-15  TheFocus: From a simultaneous exhibition in Salamanca, Spain on April 3, 1944.

Alekhine scored +17=8-5.

See <A. Alekhine>, pg. 25.
