Mar-30-12  wordfunph: 228-move game whoa!!!
Mar-30-12  wordfunph: oopppsss, maybe I Nikolic vs G Arsovic, 1989 tops it all at 269.
Apr-05-12  capablancakarpov: Indeed a remarkable game... the longest of all time with the 50 move rule and in classical time controls... only Nikolic vs Arsovic ( played without the 50 move rule, but the 100 move rule instead ) and Kosteniuk-Fressinet 2007, with 237 moves ( played in rapid time controls, therefore without the 50 move rule ) have been longer games in history of chess.
Jul-11-12  DanRoss53: 200... ♕f6#
Jul-26-12  norami: Lucky break for Vahap Sanal. How often do you allow a mate in one on move 200 - and your opponent misses it!
Dec-04-12  technical draw: Emre Can, a grandmaster, misses a mate in one after 200 moves. Maybe they were playing at lighting speed?
Dec-04-12  technical draw: That should be "lightning speed". Lighting speed is the time it takes you to light up your DOC.

perfidious: Maybe 204 moves of torment were not enough.
