chancho: Another black game for the Nakster.

Hopefully he will remain objective and not overpress in this game.

Penguincw: < Classical games: Kayden W Troff tied Hikaru Nakamura 0 to 0, with 0 draws. >

When Troff has white, it's +0,-0,=0.

Nakamura gets a 2nd black in a row. I can't see Troff winning (but who knows), so it's going to be rather a draw or black win, my guess. However, just like in the Sevian-Nakamura game, if white wins, then he'll be tied with Nakamura in the standings; Robson has white against Shankland.

Apr-08-15  SirRuthless: I had a feeling Sam would hold today although many were saying it would be a walkover. I have a similar feeling about this next round. Troff will either win or draw and Robson will win. Nakamura isn't right and hasn't been right in a while. Better he play like crap now than when it really matters in the GP event.

tpstar: <chessgames.com> Someone has hacked onto your Live Event page and replaced the picture of Kayden Troff with Eddie Haskell.

Apr-08-15  SirRuthless: I am not referring to TPR but to the actual quality of his moves which have been inconsistent and lackluster in this event.

Apr-09-15  whiteshark: ♔ing's-Indian, s'il vous plaĆ®t !
Apr-09-15  SirRuthless: I think Troff is a catalan player but Nakamura has had good results on the black side of that complex recently so perhaps some QGA line and a fairly eventful draw.
Apr-09-15  Strongest Force: Who is Eddie Haskell?
Apr-09-15  schweigzwang: I'll take "Ancient American Sitcoms" for 200, please.
Apr-09-15  BOSTER: Are they match? No.
Naka's chess understanding in spite his personality is much better.

OBIT: Troff doesn't look like Eddie Haskell. Eddie Haskell had a snarky smile, as befit his personality. Troff looks more like the tenor in a 1950s acapella group. He clearly has a lot more chick appeal.
Apr-09-15  Strongest Force: Leave It To Beaver?
Apr-09-15  SirRuthless: Well <BOSTER> That should have been the case yesterday but when you have black vs an opponent who is content to draw, it can be tough to make anything happen.
Apr-09-15  Strongest Force: Troff looks like a used car salesman:)
Apr-09-15  Jambow: What ever the kid looks like he is a strong chess player and will probably peak at no less than 2600's if not higher.

He seems to be a pleasant outgoing young man from what little I have seen of him.

Apr-09-15  Marmot PFL: I think most Mormons look like that.
Apr-09-15  Marmot PFL: Modern Benoni, Fianchetto variation.
Apr-09-15  Marmot PFL: Not much doubt Nakamura is playing to win today. Looks very well prepped so far. Makes sense as Troff always plays 1 d4.
Apr-09-15  Strongest Force: Troff could be president with that smile but you know he will have something going in the closet:)
Apr-09-15  breaker90: What is the difference between the benoni and the kings Indian defense? They both seem similar and I thought this opening was the latter...
Apr-09-15  ninja warrior: c5 vs. e5.
Apr-09-15  haydn20: 13. Nd2 seems a bit passive and 14. Bf1 moreso. 14...g4!? takes up the challenge. Are we still "in book"?
Apr-09-15  Marmot PFL: Black is restraining white on the king side and wants to play b5, probably needs to play b6 first though.
Apr-09-15  Strongest Force: B-90, I would say one difference is that the B is just as sharp as the KID but less risky.
