MissScarlett: Thought it worth submitting the only known game between these two great Yorkshire players.

I've given the source as the <Field>, whereas Forster's book on Burn used the <Liverpool Weekly Courier> (not seen). The <Field>'s score has two errors - one obvious misprint: <23.Q to K6>, and <18...QR to Qsq>, i.e., <18...Rad8> - which must be wrong as <21...Rf7> would leave the Rd8 hanging.

Nov-20-20  Cheapo by the Dozen: White's queen spiraled around somewhat, and so I feel entitled to reference Yeats' line "perne in a gyre".

O sages standing in God's holy fire
As in the gold mosaic of a wall,
Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre,
And be the singing‐masters of my soul.
Consume my heart away; sick with desire
And fastened to a dying animal
It knows not what it is; and gather me
Into the artifice of eternity.

perfidious: Yeats' <An aged man is but a paltry thing> is, regrettably, only too close to the way such people are viewed by so many.
