An Englishman: Good Evening: The most recent game in the DB is a quarter-century old, where Black deviated with 14...Ne4. The game got so insanely complicated that it makes sense no one has played the line since then.

cwcarlson: I can't believe this 53 year old disaster is GOTD! Among other things 16...Rd8, 18...Qc6, and 19...O-O-O kept Black alive. 19...bc? 20.Bb6 Qc8 21.Ba4 Bc6 22.Qc4+-. Houdini says 22.Qe4? bc 23.Kb1 Bb5 is =, although Black must still be careful. My 22...Bg5 lost valuable time by not taking on b2 with check, and 23...Ba4? only made it worse. My rating then was only 1800, but Levy Rozman would likely think it was 1200.

HeMateMe: I'm sorry. I just couldn't find any Watson/Karpov or Watson/Kasparov games. I'll resume my search of the DB...

MissScarlett: Did <cwcarlson> ever consider kingside castling?
Jul-06-25  VerySeriousExpert: @cwcarlson
Dear Sir, if your chess strength was not sufficient that time, could you say, please, why have you chosen the Sicilian instead of Open Games?
Jul-06-25  VerySeriousExpert: And here is my question to everyone. If you are Black and show your T-shirt with the words "Open chess games! They have set
my soul on fire"
(from Yury Bukayev's song https://jeromegambit.blogspot.com/2... ), what do you think, will your opponent play 1.e4 ?

OhioChessFan: Nice pun. Thanks for your thoughts <cwc>. I saw you've commented on a few of your other games, so I'll have a look.
Jul-07-25  macer75: I had no idea Carlsen has been playing for that long! I thought he was much younger.
