offramp: Fabio playing the Italian. He's NOT Italian, though.

Sally Simpson: But he has won the Italian Championship a few times so he knows the Italian game.

The tempo has slowed right up.

Nov-03-23  Refused: <offramp: Fabio playing the Italian. He's NOT Italian, though.>

Doesn't he possess a dual citizenship (US and Italian)?

At least that's what I vaguely recall.

Sally Simpson: Actually an interesting position (Move 16 Black to play and defend f7) I'd prefer Black because I can see King whack cheapo's but this is going to be Black playing g4 v White with b5 ideas. And now I have to out....damn!
Nov-03-23  Refused: Well I kinda prefer white. Black's king side pawns feel a bit loose, white is fully developed, and I can see a clear plan going forward with queen side expansion. I mean, I can even dream of playing Nf5, if black is careless. The only white piece I kinda dislike is the Bishop on g3. But even that one is not totally useless.

fredthebear: That Nh2 is a beauty/sarc. I can honestly say that I've never tried that one before (except to capture, of course), and hopefully never will.

34. Nf5+, and Black played ...Bxf5, we could have a ♘♘ v ♗♗ ending.

Nov-03-23  virginmind: Draw.

Sally Simpson: Back! I see Black defend f7 by 0-0. Chicken. How about Rh7 then Kf8,Kg7 Bishop sac on h3 Ra-h1 another sac and another sac then checkmate. Have these guys never read Reinfeld.

The only way you are going to beat Caruana with Black is to go messy or make him laugh.

  Sally Simpson: Hi Honza,

Possibly not. They may have agreed a draw and the Kings are place on d5 and e5 to signify it. The automatic board picked up the Black King going to e5. (perhaps.)

Nov-03-23  stone free or die: Definitely on <Sally>'s post, sans perhaps.

HeMateMe: I wonder why white voluntarily gave up the pawn in the early middlegame?
