offramp: GM Gukesh has been beating GMs like a Cherokee drum. Gukesh did not beat Rapport, and that was a very dull game.
I hope this will be an eventful game, versus Caruana.

Shrivatri Anuj vs R Makarian, 2024

D Laylo vs J Habla, 2011.

offramp: I think the Black knight is heading for c4.

An Englishman: Good Morning: Saturday morning, a bottomless pot of coffee, and a Super-GM game that leaves theory on move 6. Life is good. Haven't a clue as to who stands better after 13...Be6. Which somehow makes life even better (guessing White because of the better Bishop).

HeMateMe: Who the heck goes around beating Cherokee drums?

I like White's pawn structure better.

An Englishman: Good Morning: Given how much time the players have consumed for the first 17 moves, this position must have far more complexities than I can possible imagine.

MarcusBierce: Black seems quite tied up after 28. Qe5

An Englishman: Good Morning: This game changed in a hurry. Two extra pawns must feel good, but White's pieces seem to lack coordination and his a-pawn looks weak. Will 43.Be8 help? If the Knight moves, the a4 pawn automatically receives protection; if it doesn't, the Black Rook gets tied down.

OhioChessFan: White's Bishop was far better than Black's Knight. After 12...Ne7, the Knight didn't move until 42...Nxc6 while the Bishop dominated the proceedings.
Sep-21-24  Atking: <tamar: Gukesh reaches 2790.1 in live rating while Caruana drops to 2796.7> With a performance around 3050 Elo! the young Gukesh impress on the first board of the first team! And yes the way he won against the world number 2 (Before that game) is really impressive.

offramp: Ding Liren has sleepless nights about Gukesh, and about the forthcoming match in Bhutan in November.

In the Olympiad Ding Liren has scored +1, =6.
Gukesh has +7 =2.

The Honorable Peoples' Committee of Chess must be fretting.

Sep-22-24  fabelhaft: <In the Olympiad Ding Liren has scored +1, =6. Gukesh has +7 =2>

+7-0=2 vs +0-1=6, even.

Teyss: Gukesh is very cool-headed to let someone of the caliber of Caruana push a passed Pawn down to d2. Granted, only supported by the BQ this push was not really threatening but it's easy to say after the game is finished, OTB one can see many ghosts.

I especially like the cool 32.Kg2. A natural move would be Rd1 but Gukesh wanted to keep control of the f file. That kid is fearless.

PS: should anyone tell <offramp> the WC won't be in Buthan?

tamar: It is a 6 hour 20 minute flight from Bhutan to Singapore, so should probably tell offramp I agree.
