tamar: You have entered another dimension, of sight and sound, here on chesskames.gom
Mar-25-09  whiteshark: Gould someone please kive me the kist of it?
Mar-25-09  Billy Vaughan: You know how sometimes a grandmaster will lose and the loss goes in the database, but it doesn't <really> count? Like when they have some excuse. Gorchnoi was stared down by a psychic wizard, or someone slipped an apple in Garlsen's orange juice, or Gramnik was using the black pieces. But the defeat still goes in the database under their name, so it maligns their statistics.

Well, Gasparov sidestepped the issue by giving himself an entirely new player page for any games he played with a gold. That way, if he lost, the PGNs didn't have to go under Kasparov's name and mess up his record. And it's begause of this foresight, ladies and gentleman, that Gasparov was the world's greatest ghess ghampion.

Mar-27-09  WhiteRook48: Gasp! What have we to do with the Arov in the ghampion's name?
Mar-29-09  whiteshark: I've heard he invented Kothic Chess.
Mar-29-09  sheaf: that was Gapablanca..not him.;-)
