Oct-30-04 | | Cecil Brown: The England ladies team have had a much better Olympiad than the men. Seeded 27th they finished 8th unlike the 6th seeded men who finished 30th :-( IM Harriet Hunt just missed out on a medal on top board, she scored 9.5/13 for a TPR of 2558, Humpy Koneru was one notable scalp. She was World Girls Champion ( Under 20 ) in ~1999.
I played her once in a simul in '97 before she went to Cambridge and got soundly beaten in a Tarrasch French. I was reminded a little of Spassky and his 'clown's mask' poker face, she looked sooo bored. Maybe it was just me. |

Dec-19-04 | | WMD: Keep your East European beauties - this is the fantasy girl of British chess. |

Dec-19-04 | | WMD: Where is Ray's other hand? |

 | | tamar: Is that <WMD> in the painting flicking his ash on Ray's hair? |

 | | tpstar: I highly doubt he would leave such an obvious smoking gun at the scene, right? Very nice picture, although I don't understand why she felt compelled to choose colored contacts matching her dress. |
Dec-19-04 | | notsodeepthought: <tpstar> <I don't understand why she felt compelled to choose colored contacts matching her dress> Either that, or this is the most severe case of conjuntivitis I have ever seen. |
Dec-19-04 | | humanehuman: Who is Harriet Hunt? |
Dec-19-04 | | humanehuman: Sounds like the name of a mystery novelist............. |
Dec-19-04 | | Benzol: <humanehuman> She is very strong British player and recently performed very well at the Mallorca Olympiad.
Her brother Adam Hunt is also a chess player and I believe is an IM. |
Dec-19-04 | | WMD: I remember reading that the first GM she beat was Jim Plaskett
in a rapidplay event, using a line she'd learned from John Nunn's Beating the Sicilian 2. |
Dec-19-04 | | Pawsome: I know that eye condition. It accompanies a sore elbow and a dry throat and occurs the morning after celebrations the night b4. I wonder what Harriet's been drinking out of that mug?
Say <tpstar> is that a rockfish you have for an avatar? |
Dec-20-04
 | | tpstar: <Pawsome> Then she shouldn't play 1. b4 if it's going to make her ill! Maybe it's a rookfish instead. :-) |
Dec-23-04 | | Pawsome: Maybe she shouldn't play the Knight to b4. I once caught a rockfish, a snapper similar to the one pictured on your avatar, when fishing for halibut. A fisheries scientist who was fishing with me asked snipped off its otolith, analyzed it some time later and reported to me, long after I'd eaten the poor creature, that t was 80 years old. |
May-17-05 | | humanehuman: I once caught a Fish, in a rook pawn ending. He had a draw, but bit on a trap, and I reeled him in. |
Oct-15-05 | | Norman Glaides: Is Harriet with anyone at the moment? I think I fell in love with her today at the Bury St. Edmunds Congress. |
Oct-15-05 | | GBKnight: <Norman> Was that before or after she mated you? Sorry could not resist. |
Oct-15-05 | | Anastasia: me n my pal hariet got smashed last nite http://guests.deus.net/%7Esteve/pic... |
Oct-15-05 | | WMD: <Norman Glaides> Yes, I could really give her one as well. |
Oct-15-05 | | Anastasia: yeah well i aksed my friend and she says u make her want to throw up |
