Nov-20-06  Towershield: <syracrophy> 1...Ng4 or 1..Qxh2+ mates.
Nov-20-06  Towershield: For instance 1...Qxh2+ 2.Kxh2 Nxf3++ 3.Kh3 Neg5+ 4.Kg4 h5+ 5.Kf5 g6+ 6.Kf6 Kf8! with Nh7# to follow.
Nov-20-06  syracrophy: <Towershield> Yes. That's right. Taken from the game NN vs R Crepeaux, 1923. Indeed, lovely
Nov-20-06  NakoSonorense: Zapo verde, Cris. Espero que te la hayas pasado pkm. Cuidate. Que estes bien.
Nov-23-06  soberknight: Hi Mr. Ramirez, I read part of your profile. I could at some later point discuss what I know about chess composition, but for now I just want to encourage you to succeed. Some of the problems are very good. I liked the Rd6-h6-d6 switchback problem, even though it's pretty simple and not hard to solve. The h-pawn gives away the solution to an experienced problem solver. However, what makes that problem "work" is that 1. Rh6 is a "flight-giving" key - it allows the Black king to move, the only problem being that the move is bad for him.
Nov-23-06  syracrophy: <soberknight> Thanks! You should also see my other puzzles. Boring, but difficult :-P
Nov-25-06  syracrophy: <positionalgenius> Are you here?
Dec-09-06  positionalgenius: <syracrophy>Whats up.Its all good here,Hope you are doing well.
Dec-10-06  syracrophy: <positionalgenius> Hi! Nice to see ya. How are you doing?
Dec-16-06  positionalgenius: <syracrophy>Very well.I've been going over our yahoo chess games recently-we had some good ones.
Dec-16-06  syracrophy: <positionalgenius> Nice. Would you like to play with an old friend again? :-)
Dec-24-06  ahmadov: <syracrophy> Hi. I need your help. See my last post on Kibitzers Cafe.
Dec-29-06  syracrophy: <MATE CON CABALLO (O MATE "AHOGADO")>

<EJEMPLO>

<EJEMPLOS>

o

Dec-29-06  syracrophy: <MATE CON CABALLO>

<POSICION 1>

1.♕g8+!! ♖xg8 2.♘f7#

click for larger view

1.♕d5+ ♔h8 2.♘f7+ ♔g8 3.♘h6+! ♔h8

click for larger view

EUREKA! Hemos alcanzado la posicion basica! Ahora sigue...

4.♕g8+!! ♖xg8 5.♘f7#

Dec-29-06  syracrophy: <UNA VERSION MAS COMPLICADA DEL MATE CON CABALLO>

click for larger view

Chin! Estamos en terrible desventaja material. Hay que buscar el mate Y RAPIDO!

1.♕e6+ ♔h8 <Obvio que si 1...♔f8 2.♕f7# y fue mas facil de lo esperado> 2.♘f7+ ♔g8 3.♘h6+! ♔h8 4.♕g8+!! ♖xg8 5.♘f7#

click for larger view

Imperdonable!

Dec-29-06  syracrophy: <MATE CON CABALLO>

click for larger view

1.♖g8+!! ♖xg8 2.♘f7#

click for larger view

MATE!

Sveshnikov vs Igor Ivanov, 1976

Murey vs E Mortensen, 1982

C Capon vs Taylor, 1873

Y Visser vs Speelman, 2006

M Larios Crespo vs D Salvador Lopez, 2001

J Mason vs NN, 1900

Jan-17-07  brankat: Hello, Christian!

Are You too busy these days to participate in a Consultation game? This time, a real Chess game between Players, not Crowds, between Humans, not Machines.

It will be a contest between CG.com members and MFO Internet Chess Club. Three weeks ago I was approached by their team Captain (<Akavall>, also a CG.com member) to organize the game, to take place in my forum, starting in about 5-6 days.

---Up to 10 players per a team (posssibly less). MFO roster is already complete.

---2 (possibly 3) days per a move/team.

---NO comp. engines, Opening Explorer OK.

The rest of the rules, set-up of the consultation forums, posting, etc, is for the most part posted in my forum, and will be fully updated in the next couple of days.

Should You be interested, and are able to commit the necessary time and effort, please let me know as soon as You can. Thank You.
