CHESSGAMES - BEER

[what is this?]

Beer is believed to be over 10,000 years old. Although no one knows its exact origins, some agricultural historians believe that the first beer may have been produced accidentally when a stash of grain was soaked by rain and then warmed by the sun. If this mixture were spontaneously fermented by wild, airborne yeast—which thrives in just these warm, moist conditions—beer would have been produced (Encarta).

Fermented beverages have been preferred over water throughout the ages: they are safer, provide psychotropic effects, and are more nutritious. Some have even said alcohol was the primary agent for the development of Western civilization, since more healthy individuals (even if inebriated much of the time) lived longer and had greater reproductive success. Oct-31-08  whiskeyrebel: I love Vegas for many of the reasons some people hate it. No clocks, endless drinking and sinning, the air conditioning is cranked everywhere, food in abundance, great atmosphere. The only bad thing about Vegas is the fact I have to go home eventually.
Oct-31-08  missing kasparov: Im sorry for you my friend not everyone can party like a rockstar everyday. But on the plus side houses and rent and cars is cheaper now.

Oct-31-08  NakoSonorense: About a month ago, I tried a Brazilian beer called Xingu. Good stuff!

I also had a few Quilmes, Argentina's most famous beer. Not as good as Xingu IMO, but still not bad at all.

Oct-31-08  whiskeyrebel: I'm really glad I'm not addicted to gambling. I'm a beer drinking, bourbon and watersipping nickel and quarter video poker player. I've witnessed a few travel partners blowing every cent they had in the world in Vegas and Reno casinos over the years. It seems like the most disastrous fate awaits those who win early and develope a cocky attitude. They should have spent it on beer instead.
Oct-31-08  missing kasparov: sapora a beer from Japan is pretty yummy also.
