<Di Felice and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi give 'Robey, James' at London 1862. Gaige, Feenstra Kuiper and the Illustrated London News (26 July 1862, p.95) give just 'Robey'. Gaige lists a 'Rob(e)y, James', born 1826, died 'c11-1885', and so this could have been the player at London 1862. However, the Chess Player's Chronicle of June 1860 (p.173) mentions an 'S. Robey' in London. Furthermore, the Chess Player's Chronicle of June 1861 (p.161) suggests that Robey came from Sidney (Sydney, Australia?).>

This is probably the same player:

Domdaniel: Presumably not the 'J.Robey' of YouTube fame.
