In 2010, he achieved a Canadian National Master certification from results in Quebec. He placed 2nd in the 2010 U-16 North American Youth chess championship with 5.5/7. He went onwards to lead the 2010 World U-16 Canadian team chess championship with a score of 5/10 (tying 11th-14th with 3 wins & 4 draws in 10 games), tie-breaking for 12th on top board & seeing the team tie 8th-10th, the Canadians tie-breaking for 10th. He finished in a tie for 3rd-7th (before tiebreaks) at the U18 Canadian youth chess championships in 2013.
