Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-08-06  EmperorAtahualpa: Any relation to Anatoly?
Sep-10-06  Maatalkko: Strange that his only games on record are in the Russian Championship. That's not a typical first-time event.
Sep-10-06  positionalgenius: I hope this guys related to Anatoli... another GM to cheer for!
Sep-11-06  EmperorAtahualpa: Meanwhile I found that his first name is actually "Vadim".

He has a current FIDE ranking of 2411: http://www.fide.com/ratings/card.ph...

FIDE mentions 13 people with the name Karpov/Karpova, so that probably means it's a common family name in Russia. So probably Vadim is no relation to Anatoly.

Sep-11-06  acirce: Lenin once used 'Karpov' as a pseudonym. http://www.marx.org/archive/lenin/w...
