Jan-14-12  notyetagm: Is she partially Asian?
Jan-14-12  JoergWalter: <notyetagm: Is she partially Asian?>

probably.
yes, by the eyes.
no, by the nose.

Jan-14-12  notyetagm: <JoergWalter: <notyetagm: Is she partially Asian?>

probably.
yes, by the eyes.
no, by the nose.>

That's what I meant; she looks like half-Dutch, half-Asian to me.

A Eurasian!

Jan-14-12  JoergWalter: Yes, I understand. however, looking even at my own kids the small nose is dominant in eurasians, imo.
Jan-16-12  nummerzwei: <notyetagm:she looks like half-Dutch, half-Asian to me.>

To me, she doesn't look Asian in the slightest.

Jan-16-12  JoergWalter: <nummerzwei: To me, she doesn't look Asian in the slightest.>

that is why you are nummerzwei.

Jan-16-12  Korifej: Yes she is Asian blonde.I saw her In Novi Sad 2009 during ETC
Jan-16-12  TheFocus: She looks like most of the mixed-Asian girls i see here in Hawaii.

We have LOTS of beautiful women here; from all over the world.

Come visit. We need your tourist dollars.

And play chess at Waikiki Beach. We have many fine players at the tables at Waikiki.

Jan-16-12  JoergWalter: how about euro's?
Jan-24-12  waustad: I don't speak Dutch, but the German link and trying to cut through the Dutch posted here indicates that she lived in Belgium for a while. The first time I heard her voice I thought that she'd grown up in the US, but in the Tata round 9 video it seemed clear that she didn't, though she speaks English like a mother tongue, very fast.
Jan-24-12  achieve: Her English is too fluent and fast, Lisa must have american friends or relatives that she hung out with, otherwise you can not acquire a Californian accent like Lisa displays in the Tata rd 9 clip I just listened to.
Sep-10-12  achieve: Great result at board three for Lisa Schut at the Olympiad: 8.5/10

Btw - I blundered back in January, as the "Bio" in Dutch that I linked to and partially copied expicitly states that prior to learning chess at age 9, then living in the Netherlands, Lisa lived in the US, explaining of course why her american English is so fluent.

Jan-20-13  waustad: She beat Israeli IM Igor Batenski today at Tata C.
Jan-21-13  waustad: That's her first GM scalp in this database, unless I missed one somehow.
Jan-22-13  Abdel Irada: Very exotic-looking young woman.
Jan-25-13  waustad: There is some video of her from the site. The url is a little confusing but here is a try: http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...
Mar-10-13  waustad: She did well in the Frauenbundesliga going 4/4 for OSG Baden Baden. She may have been helped somewhat by playing on a lower board for them than she would have on other teams.
Jul-13-13  waustad: She won the Dutch Woemn's championship by a full 2 points over Anne Haast and Tea Lanchava. Congratulations on the fine result!

perfidious: <notyetagm: Is she partially Asian?>

Doesn't matter.

Can this young lady play? Sure thing, and there are better days to come.

Jul-16-13  hellopolgar: <@chessteve I dunno, Lisa Schut is quite cute! :)>

Aug-04-13  cro777: <Is she partially Asian?>

She is partially Chinese.

From Lisa Schut's photo-session at the end of the 2013 European Women's Chess Championship in Belgrade:

http://chess-news.ru/sites/default/...

May-29-14  waustad: She's certainly the most active of the chess playing Schuts. Donna, who looks a lot like Lisa, hasn't played a FIDE rated game since 2012, the same month that Heleen played her last rated game.
Oct-06-14  waustad: She's one of the few women I recognize on the women's side at the World Junior championships besides Aleksandra Goryachkina. There is also one unforgettable name: Marie Antoinette San Diego (1975).
