Feb-22-23  WilhelmThe2nd: According to Igor Berdichevsky's 'Shakhmatnaya Evreiskaya Entsiklopediya' (Moscow, 2016, page 203), Jaques Ratner was born Evsey Ratner at Odessa on Dec. 19th, 1893. A death notice in the Paris newspaper 'Le Monde' (Dec. 27th, 1974, page 16) states that he died on Dec. 24th, 1974 (his name is given as "Jacques E. V. Ratner"). Various Russian sources give his full name as Evsey Vladimirovich Ratner.
