MARKO NENEZIC
(born Aug-24-1995, 29 years old) Serbia

[what is this?]
International Master (approved January 2013). The then untitled Nenezic (March 2012 rating of 2370) came outright second in the International Championship of Central Serbia - Open A, held in Paracin during July 2011, scoring 7/9 (+6 -1 =2), which combined with a 2646 performance rating, should earn him a GM norm and 65 rating points. His wins were against Nenad Todorovic, IM Lazar Nestorovic, IM Zoran Arsovic, IM Sasho Nikolov, GM Nikola Djukic, and GM Dragisa Blagojevic, with draws against GM Igor Miladinovic and GM Mikhail Ulibin. His only loss was to GM Miodrag R Savic.

Prior to this startling result, Nenezic first appeared in FIDE rated events in early 2007. In April 2008, he came =3rd in the Serbian U14 championship, and followed this up with an outright win in the same event in 2009. He chanced his arm at the European U14 Championship, scoring 6/9 (13th-19th place) and defeated his first grandmaster, Danilo Milanovic, in an otherwise patchy 5/9 at the 2010 Winter Open in Belgrade. Building on his experience, Nenezic won the Serbian U16 Championship in 2010 outright with a score of 7/9 (+5 =4 -0) and then took out the 2010 Belgrade Junior Championship, again outright, with 7.5/9 (+6 =3 -0), before faltering with 5.5/11 at the 2010 Serbian Junior Championship, nevertheless emerging with an improved ELO. His first attempt at a world title was in the World U16 in Greece in October 2010, however, his result was a mediocre 5.5/11 (+3 =5 -3) his three wins being against untitled and lower rated players. 6.5/9 in the 2011 Winter Open was a good result that boosted his ELO by 25 points, while his 4/5 in the 2011 Belgrade Cup gave him =3rd. He came 2nd in his attempt to defend his U16 Serbian title, scoring 8/9 and drawing with tournament winner Aleksandar Indjic (8.5/9). His unplaced 4/7 in the 2011 Serbian Cup was no omen for the Central Serbian International Championship result detailed above.
